A fast partial parse of natural language
نویسنده
چکیده
The pattern matching capabilities of neural networks can be used to locate syntactic constituents of natural language. This paper describes a fully automated hybrid system, using neural nets operating within a grammatic framework. It addresses the representation of language for connectionist processing, and describes methods of constraining the problem size. The function of the network is brieey explained, and results are given.

Partial parsing via finite-state cascades
Finite-state cascades represent an attractive architecture for parsing unrestricted text. Deterministic parsers specified by finite-state cascades are fast and reliable. They can be extended at modest cost to construct parse trees with finite feature structures. Finally, such deterministic parsers do not necessarily involve trading off accuracy against speed—they may in fact be more accurate th...
متن کاملLOGICON: A System for Extracting Semantic Structure using Partial Parsing
Partial parsing is an established NLP technique used to perform syntactic analysis without generating a full constituent parse tree. This paper presents LOGICON, an endto-end system using partial parsing, which assigns novel semantic structures to natural language text. Evaluating against a test set of 500 previously unseen sentences, the system has an accuracy of 62.4% as measured by exact mat...

متن کاملAlgorithmic Aspects of Natural Language Processing
Examples of natural languages are Chinese, English and Italian. They are called natural as they evolved in a more or less natural way, without too many deliberate considerations. This sets them apart from formal languages, amongst which are programming languages, which are designed to allow easy processing by computer algorithms. Typically, programs in programming languages such as C or Java ca...
متن کاملOptimizing Parsing with Multiple Pipelining
This paper presents a technique for tagging in natural language processing that can enhance the speed and accuracy of the part-of-speech tagging in the statistical parsing by using pipelining concept for fast searching and indexing. The running time of a parser depends upon the searching of respective words in the word-bank and their respective tags to match with the parse trees stored in the P...
